Professional practice.

Maître Ali Camille Hojeij is an avocat at the Paris Bar, admitted to practise before the cour d'appel de Paris.

The profession of avocat is regulated. It is practised in accordance with law no. 71-1130 of 31 December 1971 reforming certain judicial and legal professions, and with decree no. 91-1197 of 27 November 1991 organising the profession of avocat.

Professional practice is further governed by the ethical rules established by the Règlement Intérieur National of the legal profession, adopted by the Conseil National des Barreaux, and by the Règlement Intérieur du Barreau de Paris.

The supervisory authority of the profession is the Ordre des Avocats du Barreau de Paris.

04 · Coverage

Professional insurance.

The professional civil liability of the firm and its members is covered by the collective insurance policy subscribed by the Ordre des Avocats du Barreau de Paris with MMA IARD Assurances Mutuelles and MMA IARD SA, under policy number 127 103 713.

This policy covers professional civil liability up to €4,000,000 per claim resulting from an act constituting an involuntary fault or negligence in the ordinary exercise of the profession. The deductible is 10% of the claim amount, capped at €3,000.

The coverage applies worldwide, with the sole exception of permanent establishments located in the United States of America and Canada.

06 · Ethics

Professional secrecy.

All correspondence exchanged with the firm, from the first contact, is covered by the professional secrecy of avocats, under the conditions provided by article 66-5 of law no. 71-1130 of 31 December 1971.

In all matters, whether in counsel or in defence, consultations addressed by an avocat to their client or intended for them, correspondence exchanged between the client and their avocat, between the avocat and their confrères with the exception, for the latter, of those bearing the mention official, notes of meetings and, more generally, all the documents of the file are covered by professional secrecy. Professional secrecy is general, absolute and unlimited in time. It applies to the firm and its members without reservation.

07 · Authorship

Intellectual property.

All elements comprising this site, including its structure, texts, visuals, typography, illustrations, editorial choices and graphic identity, constitute a work of the mind protected by the French Intellectual Property Code and applicable international conventions.

Any reproduction, representation, modification, adaptation, translation or distribution, partial or total, by any means whatsoever, is strictly subject to the prior written authorisation of the firm. Failing such authorisation, any exploitation may engage the civil and criminal liability of its author, under the terms of articles L. 335-2 and following of the French Intellectual Property Code.

Trademarks, logos, corporate names and distinctive signs reproduced on the site are the property of their respective holders.

08 · Confidentiality

Personal data.

The firm attaches particular importance to the protection of personal data provided by visitors to the site, in compliance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data, known as the GDPR, and with French law no. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 as amended, on information technology, data files and civil liberties.

Data controller. SELARL Hojeij Avocat, represented by its legal representative, is the controller of the data collected on the site.

Data collected. Only data strictly necessary for processing the request is collected through the contact form, namely the last name, first name, email correspondence address, any organisation and the message transmitted.

Purpose of processing. Data is collected solely for the purpose of responding to the request addressed to the firm. It is in no case transferred, sold or communicated to third parties, nor used for commercial prospecting.

Retention period. Data is retained for the time strictly necessary to process the request, then archived under the conditions provided by the avocat's professional obligations. It is then deleted.

Rights of the data subject. Any person whose data is collected has the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, as well as the right to define directives regarding the retention and communication of their data after their death. These rights may be exercised through the contact form.

10 · Amicable resolution

Consumer mediation.

In accordance with articles L. 611-1 and following of the French Consumer Code, and article L. 612-1 of the same code, any dispute of a contractual nature with a consumer, which could not be resolved through a complaint previously addressed to the firm, may be submitted to the consumer mediator of the legal profession.

Applicable law.

This legal notice is governed by French law. Any dispute relating to its interpretation or execution falls within the exclusive jurisdiction of French courts.
